ALABAMA AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORICAL CALENDAR

AT&T Alabama is pleased to present the Alabama African American History Calendar. The purpose of the Calendar is to inspire students by introducing them to African American role models and to celebrate African American history. The 12 calendar honorees or their representatives are invited to Birmingham for the official unveiling of the upcoming year’s calendar.

ACHIEVERS IN LIFE

Achievers In Life (AIL) is a nonprofit, mentoring organization whose primary emphasis is on young men ages 5-19. Achievers In Life helps participants to develop mentally, physically, spiritually and socially in order to achieve their full potentials in life. This is an organization that we give both our time and our talents to support this worthwhile cause.

ASALH 2016 - Bag Stuffing

ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF AFRICAN AMERICAN LIFE AND HISTORY

ASALH was founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1915 in response to the lack of information on the accomplishments of African Americans. He established Negro History Week in 1926 and 50 years later in 1976 that week became a month-long celebration that today is supported nationally and internationally.
The ASALH Annual Conference brings together more than 1000 individuals-academics, community builders, educators, business professionals and other to explore the history and culture of African Americans and people of African descent

A.G. GASTON CONFERENCE

“Save a part of all you earn. Pay yourself first. Never borrow anything that, if forced to it, you can’t pay back.”

These are principles for success from Dr. A.G. Gaston, a man from Birmingham, Alabama who started with zero and built an empire. These principles serve as the backdrop for the annual A.G. Gaston Conference. The conference seeks to empower small businesses from emerging markets to make their mark on Birmingham and the world.

Advanced Planning Services (APS) has been the event planner for the Alabama African American History Calendar since its inception. Over the past 8 years, Gaynelle and Vernon have made the event a memorable experience for our honorees and invited guests. Initially the program consisted of an evening unveiling ceremony, but with their recommendations and assistance, the event has grown to a full day of activities including school visits where the honorees meet with high school students throughout Birmingham.

With guests of all ages coming from all parts of the country, satisfying their various needs and requirements could have been a logistical nightmare, but every year the program has gone off without incident. Most importantly, every honoree and invited guest has commented on how they felt like VIP’s.

If you are looking for an organization that asks the right questions and listens to your answers, is very professional, and truly “client-focused” then you should look at APS. They have consistently exceeded expectations and proven to be well worth our investment.
